Trying Something New - Button Holes

It's a brand new year, so I thought I would try something new, something I've never ever done before.... Why?  Because I'm scared of failure.... Somehow, when I was growing up, failure was something to be avoided at all costs.

So, what's this thing that I've been hesitant to try?  Button holes!!  Well, I finally mustered up enough courage.  I tried out a few on scrap cloth, most of them had clots of thread behind, or the tension was wrong.  After playing around with the stitch settings, I finally tried it out on my product and here's the result.  What do you think of my first attempt?
